At our full and busy all members meeting in November our CLP unanimously voted to endorse, share and support the following Transgender Statement which we are proud to post today.

“Sleaford and North Hykeham CLP is strongly committed to opposing and preventing discrimination against people with one or more of the characteristics defined in the Equality Act, including sex. We are also proud to fight discrimination against people who are LGBT, including people who are transgender. We believe that people have the right to self-identify, and that asking people to obtain a diagnosis of gender dysphoria in order to transition is wrong.

The current debate has been very polarising. We believe everyone is entitled to respect and protection against discrimination and prejudice, and will continue to support all communities in Sleaford and North Hykeham.”
